Surgeries:
· 802 surgical procedures on 755 patients
Maxillo-facial: 328; Eyes: 389; VVF/GYN: 21; Ortho: 64
· Post-operative care: 1328 follow-up treatments, assessments, hospice care
· Surgical procedures included facial reconstruction, cleft lip and palate repair, cataract removal and strabismus correction, YAG laser treatments; VVF/GYN, orthopaedic and plastic surgeries.
Community Health Education:
· 1688 received community health teaching
· 97 trained as teachers in community health
· 3079 received HIV/AIDS awareness teaching
· 130 trained as teachers in HIV/AIDS awareness
· 613 clinical treatments given for various ailments
Dental:
· 4093 treatments on 1904 patients
· 1580 received dental teaching
· Treatments included restorations, extractions, preventative care, root canals, minor oral surgeries and cleaning.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
Integrated Development Program in D’Ando Agbadzanake, affecting 16 villages and 5600 people
· 19 trained in Water & Sanitation principles
· 10 Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP latrines completed by trainees
· 80 m2 (861 ft2) maternity clinic constructed by locals – supervision and materials provided by Mercy Ships
· 4-classroom secondary school, 2-classroom primary school constructed by villagers – supervision and materials provided by Mercy Ships
· 57 women trained in health, nutrition, business practices, biblical studies, bread baking, soap making
· 4 women trained as birth attendants
Assisting Mission Challenge Project in Lomé
· 6 toilets, 6 showers constructed in conjunction with Mission Challenge Project Mission Challenge Project
· Project to house 72 street-kids and orphans under direction of local pastor’s son who has operated the home and vocational center for three years.
· Completed 6 buildings, each 56 m2 (603 ft2) to accommodate 12 children each
· 4 Mission Challenge teams from the UK and US participated, raising over $48,000 to hire 15 local laborers, and to provide construction materials, paint, new gate, water pump, bunk beds, food, etc.
